Dress trousers are more on the dressy side of men's clothing. When you wear dress trousers you are looking to go to dinner or a more formal event. Their are more casual trousers. But those are still nice it just depends on how nice of an event you are going to. Men who usually work in an office environment wear dress trousers with a collared shirt a tie and some nice shoes. To dinner or an event it is okay to wear casual trousers too but dress trousers are more suitible. When wearing dress trousers it is typical to wear dress shoes.
